Numbers matching, 1961 Corvette Roadster, factory fuel injection (13% sold), power windows (6% sold), 4 speed manual transmission, auxiliary hardtop (1961 date coded windows), positraction rear axle, and heater. 159 out of 10,939 were sateen silver with white coves. The black soft top is a new install. I drive the car every chance I get. It is literally one of the cleanest cars but it does not sit in the garage. The car is extremely clean, very reliable, driven regularily, rides great, has incredible acceleration and handling and is just the coolest example of good ole’ fashion american muscle. The car got a third place trophy sitting in the parking lot of a road rally auto show of mostly 20 and 30 year olds after I pulled in by accident. The fuel injection unit was just recently rebuilt with all new parts calibrated to factory specifications by Lyle Davidson of Davidson Restoration in Leesburg, Va. (receipt and documentation). Davidson Restoration also inspected and confirmed that the car is an original factory fuel injection car and provide a letter documenting everything inspected in making that determination. Mr. Davidson states in the letter that “The entire restoration used many NOS and or period correct pieces to construct, and a remarkable amount of craftsmanship went into it.” During restoration the car got a new front end clip. The owner told me via e-mail (copy in file) that there was sagging in the front end drivers side. Davidson Restoration documented the quality of the replacement and made the following statements, “the construction and craftsmanship of this front end are tasteful and within the top 95% of those that I’ve observed to be installed correctly to include installation of bonding strips.”
