1964Dodge 330 hemi powered Pro Touring Hot Rod. Featured in the February 2012 issue of “Mopar Muscle” magazine. Previous owner Rick Zeitlin wanted a factory Drag Car look with modern amenities improving drivability, reliability, and comfort. He commissioned Doug Schneider of “Mopars of Las Vegas” to build the car from the ground up.
The Body was tripped and repainted in “Anniversary Gold,” a special 1 year only color for Dodge. Panels are very straight and fully sanded and buffed. Being a solid Southwestern car from new it still retains its original floors and trunk. Subframe connectors were added for extra strength and rigidity. The car retains its original Glass with the exception of a new windshield. All glass is in great shape and all seals and window fuzzies were replaced during restoration. All of the chrome and stainless was refinished to show quality except for the vent windows which still have original plating.
Powered by a built all new 580HP 426 HEMI built by INDY engine with Eagle rotating assembly, JE forged 10.25.1 Pistons, INDY high flow aluminum cylinder heads, Comp Cams 574/242 cam, all topped with a magnesium cross ram with dual Holley 770cfm 4 barrel Carbs. MSD ignition gives spark and custom tuned headers with 3″ flowmaster exhaust helps get the fumes out. The drive system is a high tech serpentine style with powermaster alternator and Billet Power steering pump. This beast stays cool with its huge cross flow aluminum radiator with thermostat controlled dual fans. The elephant motor is backed by a TKO 600 5 speed transmission with overdrive. The dana 60 rear differential was sourced from “Strange Engineering” and houses a 4.10 Sure grip. This car really stops with Wilwood disc brakes on all 4 corners with a “Hydroboost” power master cylinder.
The interior was completely refinished in genuine Leather that was produced for Bentley automobiles. Very soft, supple, and smells fantastic. The front seats were sourced from an A100 van, just like the factory lightweight cars. The carpets are German wool with extra heat and sound deadening underneath. The gauges and Dash panels were restored by “Redline.” The power steering and brakes make this car easy to drive.
