Offered for sale is a restored and stunning 1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible with a High Torque 370 HP 428 Engine with a 4 BBL and an Automatic Transmission. This Goat was featured in the Sept/Oct 2007 issue of Pontiac Enthusiast’s Magazine in an article named “Transplant Patient.” This beautiful muscle car has Factory Air Condition, Power Steering, Power Brakes, a Power Convertible Top, the original AM Radio, a Rally Clock, a Rally Shifter, Rally Mirrors, and a working Hood Tach. It also features 15″ Rally Wheels, Front Disc Brakes, Rear Drum Brakes, a Wood Steering Wheel, Soft Ray Glass, and a AM/FM/CD/IPod Stereo in the glove box. This is a real deal GTO with VIN number 242679B135248. Originally painted in Cameo White, this GTO now features a beautiful Matador Red DuPont Imron lacquer paint job. The body is straight and dent/rust free. The chrome is excellent and really shines, and the glass is great. The interior of the car is in great condition, including the carpets and dash. The floor pans and trunk sheet metal are solid. The undercarriage is very clean with no rust.     The professionally rebuilt 428/370 HP engine is what makes the car unique, and as referenced in the Sept/Oct 2007 issue of Pontiac Enthusiast’s Magazine, makes this car special in that it “embodies the spirit of the era when horsepower and street cred were important.” The engine is a date coded to be that of a 1969 429/370HP Grand Prix SJ engine with a XF block and 4 bolt mains. It is speculated that the engine may have been swapped out at or near the time of the original delivery of the car at the request of the buyer to get around the GM factory limitations on the GTO engine in order to drive more horsepower and torque. The car was originally built in Baltimore, and originally sold by Otten Pontiac in Commack, NY. The engine was rebuilt in 2008 by 1st Performance/Brooks Racing in Mesa, AZ. There a less than 5,000 miles on the engine since the rebuild, which included a Ram Air III cam, Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, and 4 bolt mains. Also new to the Goat at the time of the engine rebuild was a cooling system, shocks, sway bar, carpet, a glass windowed convertible top, lenses, chrome trim and Flowmaster exhaust.
