By all appearances, this 1960 Buick LaSabre Estate Wagon was a ‘surfer wagon’ back in the 60s. Faded ‘Torrance Beach Surf Shop’ logos on the sides point to SoCal as a likely homebase.
Styling was ‘King’ in the early ’60s and this big wagon is a perfect example of what GM was trying to accomplish. From the massive chrome front end to the stylish rear fins, this was 1960 to perfection. That said, the patina exterior and worn interior of this Estate Wagon are in need of some serious TLC in order to take home the ‘Best in Show’ trophy.
Under the hood is what is likely to be the original 364ci ‘Nailhead’ V8 that was rated at an amazing 250 horsepower and 380 lb/ft of torque. It is said to have never been rebuilt and runs fine.
The factory transmission of the 1960 Buick was the famed ‘DynaFlow’ automatic with multi-stage torque convertor. Other features include power steering, power drum brakes and tinted windows. Steel wheels mount nearly new wide-whites and are accented with classic Lance wheel covers.
This Buick LaSabre Estate Wagon is ready for a new owner who will appreciate this unique Buick from the ’60s.
